Save storage operation failed

A slot operation encountered an I/O error or rejected its slot name, conflict token or concurrent writer. Writes use synced temporary files and atomic replacement, so a failure is not an invitation to overwrite the slot blindly. A primary load I/O failure may instead recover from a verified backup.

#Common causes

• Save files cannot be opened, read, compressed, written, synced or atomically replaced.
• Another writer holds the slot lock, or the expected file hash no longer matches the current slot.
• The slot name is not portable, or an expected hash is not exactly 64 hexadecimal digits.

#Fixes

• Correct the reported filesystem problem, including directory access or available disk space, then retry the operation.

• Let the active writer finish; reload and compare the local/cloud versions before writing with a refreshed expected file hash.

• Use a portable slot name such as autosave_1 and pass the complete file hash returned by the previous read.
