Invalid localization data

A localization operation encountered invalid message syntax, signatures, arguments or supporting table/exchange data. The operation fails; invalid catalog edits are not published over the last good live catalog. A formatting error returns no formatted message.

#Common causes

• An ICU pattern has unmatched braces, duplicate selectors, no other branch or undeclared, unused or mistyped parameters.
• Runtime arguments do not match the signature, locale tables disagree on parameter types, or required source tables are absent.
• Table records or keys are invalid, or an XLIFF/PO import has stale source text, unknown keys or unsupported directives instead of whole ICU patterns.

#Fixes

• Correct the reported message syntax and make its declared parameters match every usage; include an other branch for each plural/select.

• Supply the exact typed arguments and load source/target tables with matching signatures; submit table repairs through l10n.put.

• Re-export stale translation data, preserve whole ICU patterns and metadata, then import against the current source.
