Cyclic graph dependency

The graph cannot be topologically ordered, or its domain forbids feedback. The authored graph is retained, but compilation requiring an acyclic graph cannot proceed. Generic graph commands permit feedback; material expressions must form a directed acyclic graph.

#Common causes

• An expression directly or indirectly consumes its own output.
• A feedback edge was authored in a generic graph and then checked by a domain that forbids cycles.

#Fixes

• Remove an edge in the dependency loop with graph.disconnect, then revalidate the domain graph.

• For materials, edit the expression or use material.connect to point the argument at an independent source.
