Journal recovery problem

A malformed .ara/journal line is skipped with a warning. If a decoded transaction cannot be restored, recovery logs an error and stops restoring later transactions; earlier recovered state is retained. The message distinguishes these cases.

#Common causes

• A truncated or malformed journal line.
• A transaction's revision or operations no longer fit the restored store or available documents.

#Fixes

• Preserve a copy of .ara/journal before investigating the reported line or transaction; compare ara history, ara logs and current documents to identify what was recovered.

• Restore missing documents or recover the intended changes from a valid backup, then verify them with ara check; do not assume skipped or later transactions were applied.
