File operation failed

A filesystem operation failed. The message identifies the operation and operating-system error; the requested read, write or host setup did not complete. A journal append failure does not itself undo an already committed in-memory edit.

#Common causes

• The named file or project directory is missing or inaccessible.
• Permissions, a file lock or insufficient disk space prevented the operation.

#Fixes

• Restore access to the path named in the message and retry the original command.

• For project discovery, pass ara --root <project-dir>; for a failed journal write, preserve the running host and restore write access before closing it.
